Melissa Kegler, an elite open-water swimmer who specializes in long-distance swims, recently broke the U.S. national distance record for IISA’s Ice Mile event with a 1.4-mile swim in 39.2 degree water in 51 minutes and 26 seconds. Her goal is not only to excel in this extreme sport but also to foster community and body positivity in the swimming world.
