Caught in a rip about 100 meters offshore of Sydney beach Maroubra on Sunday, 25 swimmers were rescued with the help of Ironman and Ironwoman athletes who happened to be competing earlier that day. A group of 10 participants, coaches, and competitors used boards and rescue tubes to stabilize the swimmers before inflatable rescue boats arrived and escorted them to shore.
