The City of Cape Town launched its Festive Season Beach Safety Plan at Big Bay in Bloubergstrand.
Close to 700 lifeguards and hundreds of policing personnel will be deployed across the metro. A major component of the plan is to encourage the public to choose safe areas to swim to prevent possible drownings.
