On The Scene: Poisonous blue-green algae growing in Rotter Lake in Troisdorf in western Germany have led authorities to close it off to swimmers. According to the district’s health department, blue-green algae pose a danger to humans and animals. Along with skin irritation, humans swallowing the water risk liver and kidney or nerve damage.
