NSW police officer loses her life trying to save trapped swimmer in Blue Mountains

An extraordinary act of bravery has cost a young policewoman her life after she tried to save a swimmer trapped in a whirlpool at Mount Wilson in the Blue Mountains. Both women were sucked into a vortex of raging waters and did not emerge with police finding their bodies this afternoon.
