Thrilled swimmers splashed down in the baths’ iconic gala pool on Sunday to mark a major milestone in the Grade II-listed building’s continuing multi-million pound restoration.

Others splashed around with inflatables to celebrate the occasion.

The one-off event, the first time swimmers have taken to the pool in 24 years, came after members of the public were offered the chance to buy tickets to take part.
