A Florida man was able to free a tangled juvenile nurse shark he spotted struggling during a freediving trip on Wednesday, and the whole thing was caught on video.

Szilard Janko, an underwater photographer from Hallandale Beach, said the hook pierced the shark’s mouth and the attached line was wrapped around the reef near Anglin’s Fishing Pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Before Janko and his friend Julia Sheffer came along the shark was tethered inside a hole.

The freediver swam down and retrieved the shark from the space then carefully removed the hooks from its lip while Sheffer recorded.
