Indiana wide receiver Isaac Griffith is in a medically-induced coma following a swimming accidenton Monday in Florida.

Griffith’s father, Shannon, the football coach at Division III Manchester University,tweeted Tuesday morning that his son remains in critical condition after an incident involving a rip current. Isaac Griffith is on a ventilator to “allow his lungs to heal,” according to Shannon, who has traveled to Sarasota, Fla., with his wife to be with their son.

“My wife, Kim, and I have been at Isaac’s bedside since 2 AM we are encouraged with his progress in ICU but we have small battles to face and are asking for your thoughts and prayers,” Shannon Griffith wrote on Twitter. “His vitals are stable but we still need for continued [sic] prayer for his lungs.”
