The 13th Annual Polar Bear Swim, in Silver Creek, took place this past weekend. The brave participants braved the chilly temperatures Sunday for a dip in Lake Erie.
The swim raises money for the Variety Kids Telethon, the Silver Creek Food Pantry, and local fire departments in Silver Creek and Sunset Bay. Even though we’ve had a big warm-up since last week, it was still pretty cold out there.
Swimmer Adam Steck said, “My legs got numb like halfway in. We were in there for 30 seconds, my legs got numb but it was worth it.â€
