After the fourth and final day of the LEN 2012 European Short Course Championships in Chartres, France, the host country leapt even further ahead in the medal standings, to ‘win’ the event with 12 gold medals, 6 silver and 11 bronze, Denmark and Hungary second with 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Yannick Agnel and Camille Muffat both secured their almost certain gold medals in the 200 freestyle, albeit not breaking the expected world records, while Hannah Miley (GBR) and Rikke Møller Pedersen (DEN) broke the European records in the 400 IM and 100 breaststroke respectively, and Daryna Zevina of Ukraine the Championships record in the women’s 200 backstroke.
