From NOlympics’ view, the Games not only fail to “realize a more peaceful vision of the future,†but actively sow division, widening the gap between the working poor and monied elite. For the past two years, the group has mounted a campaign with a simple mission: kick the Olympics out of Los Angeles. Recently, as that effort has gained traction with a growing coalition of Angelenos, the goal has become more ambitious: to disprove the myth of the Olympic truce, raise awareness about the Games’ proven material consequences, and foster a global movement to end the mega-event for good.
