In South Florida, swim season is year round. Unfortunately, for too many children, a good time can turn tragic. Drowning is a leading cause of death for children ages one to four. That’s why The American Academy of Pediatrics now says children should learn to swim before they can even walk.

I just read the AAP guidelines, https://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/143/5/e20190850
And it says this “There is no evidence to suggest that infant swimming programs for those younger than 1 year are beneficial.”
