ReachOut is calling on Aussies to take part in Laps for Life, a month-long swimming challenge to raise funds and awareness for young people in Australia living with mental health difficulties.

The event is backed by Olympic swimming champ Ian Thorpe, who has been ReachOut ambassador since he learned about the service while working on an anti-bullying program.

“Myself, and so many Australians know firsthand what it’s like to face mental health challenges,” says Thorpe, who has spoken about his struggles with depression dating back to his teens.

“It’s important to me to support an organisation that is making a real impact when it comes to the mental health of young people in Australia.”
