With the summer months comes the return to the nice, cool water for some relief … and the danger that comes with it.

So the Buffalo City Swim Racers held their fist Water Safety Festival at City Honors School on Saturday. They’re teaching kids how to stay safe in the water this summer with a focus on the minority community.

That’s because the CDC says African Americans aged 5 to 14 years of age are three times as likely to drown as white children of the same age.
