With warmer weather arriving, many people across the East will be heading to pools. But how do you know they’re safe to swim in.

Keith Jernigan is with the Craven County Health Department. He says this time of the year is extremely busy as seasonal pools ask to be inspected so they can open to the public.

“We meet them out on site to look at things such as the safety equipment, the pool water quality and making sure the equipment is operating properly,” said Jernigan.

But these types of on site inspections are few and far between.
