What to expect

A hopefully formidable fight right from the start, when Mads Glæsner and Pál Joensen meet in the men’s 1500 freestyle. Chartres 2013 European SC silver medalist Viktor B. Bromer maybe threatening Simon Sjödin’s 200 fly Nordic record of 1:52.90. Lotte Friis similarly able to make another Nordic mark in the 400 freestyle, if she cares to swim real fast. Mie Ø. Nielsen winning easily in the 50 backstroke, but a lot of good fights in the remaining events.

Prediction

1500 usually follows the 400 pattern, and Mads Glæsner should therefore be the clear favorite, with Pál Joensen maybe having to check his six to see where Anton Ørskov Ipsen is at. Mads and Anton will make the Herning 2013 roster in this event, and maybe also one of those in the 15:40s, if they can step up to swimming 15:23.50 or better.

Totally Viktor B. Bromer territory, just don’t know if he can or wants to swim real fast. Jonas Sørensen should make the Herning 2013 team too, and third or fourth placed only has to swim a second or two faster, to make the team.

Not really Herning 2013 relevant, in fact a bit sad that the relays there are all 50s.
