In a press release last week, Bergen Swim Festival 2013 could boast a best ever field of world-class swimmers, including 4 male breaststroke finalists from the London 2012 Olympics. Also known as the Alexander Dale Oen Memorial, there is no doubt that the congregation of swim stars has a lot to do with them wanting to honor their lost friend Alex, who died just before last year’s meet in Bergen.

Alongside an undoubtedly impressive list of national heroes, the list of international entries includes big names like Olympic champions Cameron van der Burgh (RSA) and Daniel Gyurta (HUN, Olympic silver medalist Michael Jamieson (GBR) and finalist Andrew Willis (GBR), Istanbul 2012 European SC silver medalists Martti Aljand (EST) and Pál Joensen (FAR), World Cup champion Katinka Hosszu (HUN), World Champions Jeanette Ottesen Gray (DEN) and Rikke Møller Pedersen (DEN), and Swedish sprint legend Stefan Nystrand.
