Many female swimmers are dissatisfied with the statements made by the men’s relay team, the public information released about the London Olympic campaign and the fact they weren’t interviewed during the Bluestone review into Australian swimming’s culture.

Jade Neilsen’s roommate in Manchester is opting not to publicly comment about the incidents but has promised swimming officials she will give her full co-operation to any formal investigations.

The revelation comes as a male member of the swimming fraternity is alleged to have asked officials to “gag the women” after Friday’s press conference and James Magnussen allegedly made a disparaging remark last week about swimmers talking publicly.

The entire team also received a text message from Swimmers’ Association boss Daniel Kowalski to stop commenting about issues through the media and to let the newly formed Integrity Panel deal with the situation.

The female swimmers are expected to reveal details about the bullying of young swimmers at a recent event camp on the Gold Coast, the verbal harassment they have received on team buses about their physical appearance and physical intimidation, which has included one high-profile female being pushed out of an elevator by one of the relay men in Perth last January.

“The women are seething,” said one source.
