Yesterday September 15, the first ever official open water event was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, arranged by the Georgian Swimmers’ Club, Georgian Aquatics Sports National Federation, Tbillisi City Hall and Lisi Development. The distance was 5K for men and 3K for women, Georgia’s 200 freestyle national record holder Irakli Revishvili clocking the best time of 1:00.44,with about 50 swimmers participating including London 2012 Olympian Irakli Bolkvadze.
