Breaking news on (Dutch) BBC News, on 2008 Olympic and 2009 World champion Hinkelien Schreuder: ‘I’m doing the last months of my career. I hope to participate in the Olympic Games and European Championships. I have had a great career and am proud of it. I want it in my own hands to decide when I stop.’ She is now focusing on qualifying in the 100 meter freestyle, saying the competition in the Dutch 50 freestyle is ‘awfully tough’ and her chance non-realistic.
