Young gun Óli Mortensen from Havnar Svimjifelag became the 2nd Faroese swimmer ever to swim under 16 minutes in the 1500 meter (short course) freestyle, when he managed a 15:53.39 at the Ægir meet in Klaksvík this weekend. Born in 1996, the first Faroese swimmer ever was Pál Joensen (1990) with a 15:56.21 in 2007.
